- The CDP-MEP Synthesis Kit contains the components necessary for the synthesis of CDP-MEP. \n \nSample Type: For Enzymatic Synthesis of CDP-MEP \nAssay Incubation time: Sixty minutes (CDP-MEP Synthesis Reaction) \nSample Considerations: Yield ≥ 70% CDP-MEP (~ 0.7 mg) \nSample Volume: 1.5 mL (0.7 mg CDP-ME) \n \n \n \nProduct Background \nIn the fourth step of the MEP pathway, CDP-ME is converted to 4-diphosphocytidyl-2-C-methyl-D-erythritol-2-phosphate (CDP-MEP) by CDP-ME kinase (IspE) with the concomitant formation of adenosine diphosphate (ADP). The formation of CDP-MEP occurs at a 1:1 ratio with the consumption of ATP. By measuring this decrease in ATP levels the user can infer the amount of CDP-MEP generated.
