Extra Details:
Molecular Weight: 760 \nSalt Form: N/A \nPurity: >95% \nSequence (3-letter): Ac-Asp-Met-Gln-Asp-AFC \nSequence (1-letter): Ac-DMQD-AFC \nStorage: -20 ?C or below \n \nAc-Asp-Met-Gln-Asp-AFC is a fluorogenic substrate for Caspase 3 (Apopain). Caspase 3 is a cysteine protease that is rapidly activated during apoptosis and that cleaves several substrates, including poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP). Caspase 3 is activated by Caspases 8, 9 and 10 and cleaves and activates caspase 6 and 7. Caspase 3 cleaves the amyloid precursor protein (APP) contributing to Amyloid beta formation and has been implicated in Alzheimer?s disease and proposed as a target for drug discovery. \n \nActivity is quantified by release of free fluorescent 7-amino-4-trifluoromethylcoumarin (AFC) which excites at 395-400 nm and emits at 495-505 nm. \nReferences \n1.
