Its molecular structure contains multiple binding domains that enable selective interactions with various macromolecules such as fibrin, heparin, bacteria, and cell surface receptors. Through these interactions, it participates in numerous physiological processes. Fibronectin plays important roles in mediating cell-matrix and cell-cell adhesion, as well as in regulating cell differentiation, growth, and migration. Furthermore, it is involved in embryonic development, blood coagulation, and wound healing. Additionally, fibronectin plays a critical role in tumor cell metastasis.
