- Bioactivity
- Extra Details:
- PDGF-AB (Platelet-Derived Growth Factor-AB) is an important dimeric protein growth factor belonging to the PDGF family, formed by one A chain and one B chain linked via disulfide bonds. It is primarily secreted by platelets, endothelial cells, macrophages, and other cell types. In mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) culture, PDGF-AB promotes proliferation and helps maintain multipotent differentiation potential. It also inhibits apoptotic pathways and enhances cell survival, which is particularly critical under serum-free or low-serum culture conditions. PDGF-AB plays a key role in tissue repair, embryonic development, and cell proliferation.
