- Bioactivity
- Extra Details:
- FGF-7 (Fibroblast Growth Factor 7), also known as Keratinocyte Growth Factor (KGF), is a growth factor specific for epithelial cells and belongs to the FGF family (FGF10 subfamily). It is secreted by mesenchymal cells and functions by binding to the FGFR2-IIIb receptor. FGF-7 promotes the proliferation of epithelial cells (such as keratinocytes, alveolar epithelial cells, and intestinal epithelial cells), enhances wound repair and barrier function, inhibits apoptosis, and supports stem cell survival (e.g., intestinal stem cells and prostate epithelial stem cells).
