- Extra Details:
- IL-21 (Interleukin-21) is a pleiotropic cytokine belonging to the common gamma-chain (γc) cytokine family, primarily produced by activated CD4+ T cells and natural killer T (NKT) cells. It plays important roles in immune regulation, cell proliferation, differentiation, and functional modulation. In B cell cultures, IL-21 induces plasma cell differentiation and enhances the secretion of IgG and IgM. In T cells, it promotes the proliferation and cytotoxicity of CD8+ T cells and NK cells, making it valuable for tumor immunotherapy research, such as in CAR-T cell cultivation. Additionally, IL-21 can suppress regulatory T cell (Treg) function and enhance the anti-tumor activity of effector T cells. In NK cell cultures, it augments killing capacity and IFN-γ secretion, and is widely used in studies related to immune cell therapy.
