- Extra Details:
- GDNF (Glial Cell Line-Derived Neurotrophic Factor) is an important neurotrophic factor belonging to the TGF-β superfamily. Initially isolated from a rat glial cell line, it has become a research focus due to its remarkable protective effects on dopaminergic neurons, showing potential therapeutic value especially in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. GDNF is also involved in the cultivation and directed differentiation of stem cells, and is often used in combination with factors such as SHH and FGF8 to induce the differentiation of embryonic stem cells (ESCs) or induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) into dopaminergic neurons.
