Has strong activity toward lactosylceramide (LacCer) and neolactotetraosylceramide (nLc4Cer; paragloboside), resulting in the synthesis of Lc3Cer and neolactopentaosylceramide (nLc5Cer), respectively. Probably plays a central role in regulating neolacto-series glycolipid synthesis during embryonic development.
