That explains why our EIA kits using coated antibodies are also called ELISA kits.|Interleukin-17A (IL-17A) is one of the six members of the IL-17 family(1) (from IL-17A to IL-17F).|IL-17A is a polypeptide of 132 amino acids with a molecular weight of 14.9 kDa. IL-17A structure contains 4 antiparallel strands connected by two disulfides bridges(2). It can form either a homodimer or a heterodimer with IL-17F.|Cells from the lymphoid lineage (CD4+ T cells; Th17 subpopulation; NK cells)(3-4) and Paneth cells(5) have been identified as producers of IL-17A.|IL-17A is a proinflammatory mediator; its upregulation is find in many diseases like skin disorders (psoriasis; acne inversa) or Crohn's disease.
