- Specificity:
- The antibody binds S1P with high affinity and specificity. The interactions between the antibody and the antigen involve the Ca2+ and single oxygen atom from the phosphate head grup and the amino alchol region of S1P. The antibody does not cross reacts with structurally related lipids, including sphingosine (SPH). However, it does cross react with sphingosyl phosphocholine (SPC).
