- Specificity:
- This antibody reacts with snake venom metalloproteinase (SVMP) BaP1 present in the venom of Bothrops asper. BaP1 is a P-I class of SVMP relevant in the local tissue damage associated with envenomations by Bothrops asper. This metalloproteinase exhibits a weak hemorrhagic activity and rapidly degrades the Aalpha-chain (FGA) of fibrinogen, and later on, degrades the Bbeta-chain (FGB) of fibrinogen.
