- Specificity:
- This antibody specifically binds to the core protein epitopes within the VNTR domain of human Muc-1 (PMID: 9422085). MUC-1 is a tumor associated antigen expressed on many multiple myelomas, breast and ovarian cancer cells. This antibody does not show reactivity towards fibroblasts, lymphoblastoid cells, and a large number of epithelial cell lines of non-breast origin.
