- The antibody is specific for MPO. Myeloperoxidase (MP0) is a cationic glycoprotein with a relative molecular weight of 133-155kD and an isoelectric point of 1.0 secreted by neutrophils, macrophages and monocytes. MPO is part of the host defense system of polymorphonuclear leukocytes and it is responsible for microbicidal activity against a wide range of organisms.
