Specificity:: This antibody binds human TRKB and also cross reacts with mouse and rat TRKB. TRKB is a membrane bound receptor for brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). Upon neurotrophin binding it phosphorylates itself and members of the MAPK pathway. Signaling through this kinase leads to cell differentiation. Mutations in this gene have been associated with obesity and mood disorders.
