- Binds to the ADAMTS13 spacer domain. 1-420 binds to the same ADAMTS13 spacer domain loop segments that are required for binding of ADAMTS13 to VWF. ADAMTS13 is a zinc-containing metalloprotease which is secreted in blood where it is able to cleave VWF, a protein involved in blood clotting, to decrease the protein's activity.
