- Specificity:
- OX-56 binds specifically to CD43 and binding is not affected by CD43 glycosylation. OX-56 reacts with most thymocytes and T lymphocytes in the lymph node cell population. This antibody also binds to pre-B cells and can detect CD43 at low levels on B cells. CD43 plays a role in the physicochemical properties of the T-cell surface and in lectin binding. CD43 is a major cell-surface sialoglycoprotein
