- W6/1 binds to A1 and A2 erythrocytes and does not bind to B or O erythrocytes (detects a polymorphic determinant of erythrocytes correlating with blood group A). When saturating amounts of secondary antibody are used, binding of W6/1 is 5 times as great on type A1 than A2.
