Genomic clones for the largest human neurofilament protein(NF-H) were isolated; the intron/exon boundaries mapped and the entire protein-coding regions(exons) sequenced. mutations in neurofilaments have been linked to some forms of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease(CMT).
