- Source : Escherichia Coli. GrpE Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single; non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 197 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 21.8 kDa. The GrpE is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. GrpE ; co-chaperone of E.coli; participates actively in the response to hyperosomotic and heat shock by preventing the aggregation of stress-denatured proteins in association with DnaK. This protein is the nucleotide exchange factor for DnaK and may function as a thermosensor. Several rounds of ATP-dependent interactions between DnaJ; DnaK and GrpE are required for fully efficient folding.
