- Extra Details:
- Source : Escherichia Coli. TOMM20 Human Recombinant produced in E.coli is a single; non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 144 amino acids (25-145) and having a molecular mass of 16.2 kDa. TOMM20 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Mmitochondrial import receptor subunit TOMM20 homolog (TOMM20) is a member of the Tom20 family. The Tom machinery consists of import receptors for the initial binding of cytosolically synthesized preproteins and a general import pore (GIP) for the membrane translocation of various preproteins into the mitochondria. TOMM20 acts as the transit peptide receptor at the surface of the mitochondrion outer membrane and facilitates the movement of preproteins into the TOM40 translocation pore.
