NFKBIB Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single; non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 380 amino acids (1-356 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 40.3kDa (Molecular weight on SDS-PAGE will appear higher).NFKBIB is fused to a 24 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. NF-kappa-B inhibitor beta (NFKBIB) is a member of the NF-kappa-B inhibitor family; which inhibit NF-kappa-B by complexing with; and trapping it in the cytoplasm. Phosphorylation of serine residues on these proteins by kinases marks them for destruction via the ubiquitination pathway; thus allowing activation of the NF-kappa-B; which translocates to the nucleus to act as a transcription factor.
