- Source : E.coli. IGJ Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 160 amino acids (23-159) and having a molecular mass of 18kDa. IGJ is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. Immunoglobulin J chain (IGJ) helps to link 2 monomer units of either IgM or IgA and also also helps to bind these immunoglobulins to secretory component. When it comes to IgM; the J chain-joined dimer is a nucleating unit for the IgM pentamer and in the case of IgA it induces larger polymers.
