- Source : E.coli. GREM2 Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 170 amino acids (22-168) and having a molecular mass of 19kDa. GREM2 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. GREM2 which is a member of the BMP (bone morphogenic protein) antagonist family takes part in regulating organogenesis; body patterning; and tissue differentiation. GREM2 is an antagonist of BMP and like BMPs; BMP antagonists contain cystine knots and typically form homo- and heterodimers. The CAN (cerberus and dan) subfamily of BMP antagonists; is characterized by a C-terminal cystine knot with an 8-membered ring.
