IFN-a6 is produced by macrophages; expressed at low level; only 1.0% of the average gene in this release. IFN-a6 contains interferon alpha; beta and delta domain. IFN-a has antiviral activities. Interferon stimulates the production of two enzymes: a protein kinase and an oligoadenylate synthetase.
