About this Product
- SKU:
- 32-17545
- Additional Names:
- ALXDRD
- Extra Details:
- The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 37.2 kDa after removal of the signal peptide. The apparent molecular mass of His-GFAP(68-377) is approximately 35-55 kDa due to glycosylation. This gene encodes one of the major intermediate filament proteins of mature astrocytes. It is used as a marker to distinguish astrocytes from other glial cells during development. Mutations in this gene cause Alexander disease; a rare disorder of astrocytes in the central nervous system. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
- Host:
- HEK293
- Purification:
- The purity of the protein is greater than 85% as determined by SDS-PAGE and Coomassie blue staining.
- Shipping Conditions:
- Blue Ice
- Storage Conditions:
- Store at -20[o]C to -80[o]C for 12 months in lyophilized form. After reconstitution; if not intended for use within a month; aliquot and store at -80[o]C (Avoid repeated freezing and thawing).Lyophilized proteins are shipped at ambient temperature.
