In West Africa; the high prevalence of HIV-1 CRFand cocirculation of subtype Aand other complex intersubtype recombinants has been highly documented. Cocirculation of HIV-1 CRFstrain with other genetic subtypes may lead to novel and complex HIV-1 recombinants.HIV-1 CRF Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single; non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 101 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 20.1kDa.

- Lyophilized HIV-1 CRF although stable at room temperature for 1 week; should be stored desiccated below -18[o]C. Upon reconstitution HIV-1 CRF should be stored at 4[o]C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18[o]C. For long-term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
