EIF4E identifies and binds to the 7 methyl GTP cap structure of eukaryotic mRNAs; thus modulates the initiation of translation. EIF4E enables ribosome binding by inducing the unwinding of the mRNAs secondary structures.EIF4E Mouse Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single; non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 241 amino acids (1-217 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 27.6kDa. EIF4E is fused to a 24 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
