- Specificity: Mouse Anti-Human Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Beta (TSH-?) (Clone 155) recognizes Human Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Beta. This monoclonal antibody was purified using multi-step affinity chromatography methods such as Protein A or G depending on the species and isotype. Background: Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH); also known as thyrotropin; is a glycoprotein hormone1 that regulates the endocrine function of the thyroid gland.2 The most important controller of TSH secretion is thyroid-releasing hormone. Thyroid-releasing hormone is secreted by hypothalamic neurons into hypothalamic-hypophyseal portal blood; finds its receptors on thyrotrophs in the anterior pituitary and stimulates secretion of TSH.1 Independent of age; thyroid cancer incidence correlates with higher TSH. Higher TSH is associated with extrathyroidal extension of disease.3
