Extra Details:
ULBP2 Protein, Human, Recombinant (His Tag) consists of 203 amino acids with a molecular weight of 23.2 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of recombinant human ULBP2 is about 33 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions because of glycosylation.NKG2D ligand 2 is cell membrane protein belonging to theMHC class I family. The gene for ULBP-2 resides in a cluster of ten related genes, six of which encode potentially functional glycoproteins. ULBPs are known to bind to human NKG2D, an activating receptor expressed on NK cells, NKT cells, gamma D Delta T cells, and CD8+ alpha beta T cells, resulting in the production of cytokines and chemokines. Binding of ULBPs ligands to NKG2D induces calcium mobilization and activation of the JAK2, STAT5, ERK and PI3K kinase/Akt signal transduction pathway.ULBP2 / N2DL-2 is not expressed in normal tissues, but in various types of cancer cell lines and the fetus and has been implicated in tumor surveillance.
