- The original antibody was generated by immunization of Llama glama with mCherry fluorescent protein. A VHH cDNA library was generated by high-throughput DNA sequencing of a marrow lymphocyte from an immunized llama. Later on this was combined with mass spectrometric (MS) identification of high affinity VHH regions derived from serum of the same animal.
