ImmunoChemistry Technologies
ICT (part of the Janel group) is one of the world's leading suppliers of unique in vivo and in vitro tools critical for discovering promising investigational medicines.
Their fluorescent enzyme detection probes are used to assess apoptosis and cell death in cultured cells and living animals. ICT's specialty in vitro probes detect active caspases, cathepsins, serine proteases, cholinesterase enzymes, and assess mitochondrial health. ICT's proprietary FLIVO probes are used in vivo to assess apoptosis in living animal research models.
ICT's research laboratory specializes in custom contract ELISA development, manufacturing, and testing services. As an out-growth of these services, ICT offers a specialty line of ELISA buffers and stabilizers for assay development and manufacturing.
Pyroptosis/Caspase-1 Assay, Far Red
Catalog 9158 (25 Tests)
ICT’s Pyroptosis/Caspase-1 Assay, Far Red utilizes our popular FLICA technology to measure caspase-1 activation. Using this kit, researchers can easily detect pyroptotic cells in their whole cell samples in vitro.
Pyroptosis is a highly inflammatory form of programmed cell death that occurs most frequently upon infection with intracellular pathogens and is likely to form part of the antimicrobial immune response.
ICT’s Pyroptosis/Caspase-1 Assay Kit utilizes our popular FLICA® technology to detect caspase-1 activation. FLICA probes are cell permeant noncytotoxic Fluorescent Labeled Inhibitors of CAspases that covalently bind with active caspase enzymes.
Green Cathepsin B Assay
Catalog 9151 (25 Tests), 9152 (100 Tests)
ICT’s Green Cathepsin B Assay allows researchers to detect and monitor intracellular cathepsin activity over time in vitro using live whole cells. Cathepsins are a group of protease enzymes typically found in the lysosome.
Cathepsin B plays important roles in many cellular functions (like intracellular protein degradation, antigen processing, etc.). Elevated cathepsin activity is associated with many disease states (cancers, Alzheimer’s disease, and so on). The Green Cathepsin B Assay contains the Rhodamine 110 Cathepsin B Substrate, which is a non-cytotoxic and cell membrane permeant substrate that fluoresces green upon cleavage by active cathepsins.
Apoptosis
Apoptosis is a form of programmed cell death that occurs in multicellular organisms. Biochemical events lead to characteristic cell changes (morphology) and death. These changes include blebbing, cell shrinkage, nuclear fragmentation chromatin condensation, DNA fragmentation, and mRNA decay
