- Hybridoma or other tumor-like cells can be injected into the peritoneal cavity, the cells multiply and produce ascites fluid in its abdomen. Ascites fluid contains a high concentration of antibody making it inexpensive and easy to use. Ascites is commonly used as the source for antibody production from hybridoma cell lines. As an alternative to ascites roller bottle cell culture services are available for clients with specific antibody expression requirements.
