- RON antibody detects human RON. RON is a member of the protein kinase superfamily. Protein kinases mediate most of the signal transduction in eukaryotic cells, regulating cellular metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement and cell movement, apoptosis, and differentiation. RON is a heterodimer composed of an A Alpha chain and a B Beta chain. The A Alpha chain is completely extracellular, whereas the B Beta chain traverses the cell membrane and contains the intracellular tyrosine kinase and regulatory elements.
