Extra Details:: GPR101 (G protein-coupled receptor 101) is a G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) primarily expressed in the pituitary gland; hypothalamus; and brain tissues. It couples to Gs proteins; activating adenylyl cyclase and increasing intracellular cAMP; influencing hormone secretion; growth regulation; and pituitary function. Dysregulation or overexpression of GPR101 is associated with X-linked acrogigantism (XLAG) and pituitary hyperplasia; making it a potential therapeutic target for endocrine disorders.
