Extra Details:
TFCP2L1 (Transcription factor CP2‑like protein 1; also LBP‑9) is a 54kD (predicted) member of the CP2 subfamily, grh/CP2 family of proteins. It is expressed in placental synctiotrophoblast cells, and regulates the production of CYP11A1/P450scc. P450scc is a cholesterol cleavage enzyme that generates pregnenolone, a necessary intermediate in the formation of progesterone. TFCP2L1 both positively and negatively regulates P450scc synthesis through homodimerization and heterodimerization with LBP‑1b. Human TFCP2L1 is 479 amino acids (aa) in length. It contains a transcriptional repressor region (aa100‑200) and a dimerization domain (aa300‑479). There is one splice variant that shows a deletion of aa400‑464. Human TFCP2L1 is 73% aa identical to human TFCP2, and 93% aa identical to mouse CRTR‑1, a closely related molecule that may not represent the actual mouse ortholog to TFCP2L1. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml using human placental tissue Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
