Extra Details:: Tetranactin is a member of the macrotetrolide complex produced by a range of Streptomyces sp. Like the other members of the macrotetrolide family, tetranactin is thought to act as a monvalent cation ionophore with high selectivity for ammonium and potassium. Unlike the other macrotetrolides, tetranactin is reported to exhibit potent insecticidal activity. Source: Tetranactin from Streptomyces sp. Molecular Weight: ~793 Solubility: Soluble in ethanol, methanol, DMF or DMSO. Limited water solubility. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with DMSO. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
