- Signal Transduction and Activator of Transcription 5B (STAT5B) is a member of the Jak/STAT signal transduction pathway and is activated by a variety of cytokines (IL22, IL6, IFNα). Upon cytokine activation, STAT5B is phosphorylated and translocates to the nucleus where it binds to the DNA consensus site TTCN3GAA and activates transcription of specific genes. STAT5B shares 93% amino acid identity with STAT5A. STAT5B is involved in a wide array of biological processes ranging from regulating apoptosis to adult mammary gland proliferation, differentiation and survival. Applications: Flow Cytometry: 2.5ug/10e6 cells Western Blot: 0.5ug/ml Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
