- Extra Details:
- The STAT 4 protein is a transcription factor activated by hormone and cytokines. STAT 4 is most similar to STAT 1 (52%) and STAT 3 (47%). Functionally STAT 4 is similar to other STAT family members in that it can be tyrosine phosphorylated by JAK 1 or JAK 2. STAT 4 forms homodimers and heterodimers with related STAT family members. Tyrosine phosphorylated STAT 4 can bind the interferon g activated site (GAS), and serine phosphorylation is also required for maximal transcriptional activity. STAT 4 expression is restricted to the thymus, spleen, and testis. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
