- Extra Details:
- Pentraxin 2, also known as Serum Amyloid P-Component (SAP), is a hepatocyte-derived glycoprotein that is a nonfibrillar component of amyloid deposits. Pentraxins have a characteristic pentagonal discoid arrangement of five non-covalently bound subunits. Plasma levels of SAP in rat are relatively constant during an acute phase immune response. SAP functions as an opsonin and interacts with Fc-Gamma receptors. The 26 kD, 208 amino acid (aa) mature rat SAP shares 79% and 70% aa identity with mouse and human SAP, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
