- Serotonin Receptor 1A, also known as 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1A, is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family. Serotonin Receptor 1A has been found to be expressed highly in the septum and hippocampus. Serotonin Receptor 1A seems to have an inhibitory effect on Ca2+ channels, via N-channels and L-channels. The receptor actuates voltage-sensitive slowing using the N-channels and actuates steady state inhibition using the L-channels. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.5ug/ml detects Serotonin Receptor 1A on 10ug of rat brain tissue lysate. Band is observed at ~40kD. Calculated MW is 46kD. Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:400 Requires HIER using sodium citrate buffer pH6.0 prior to staining. Detects Serotonin Receptor 1A in normal human brain tissue. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Rat brain tissue lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
