- R. arrhizus, an angio-invasive filamentous fungus, is one of the main causative agents of systemic bovine and human zygomycosis, a worldwide and often fatal respiratory disease. R1997-50 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry for the specific and consistent in situ diagnosis of systemic bovine zygomycosis, attributed to its possible binding to a highly glycosylated moiety on non-structural components. R1997-50 does not bind to water-soluble somatic antigens (WSSA) of Aspergillus spp. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Not suitable for Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:50 Requires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: X63-Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c ABom mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
