- Tenascin R is a 180kD, 1327 amino acid, extracellular matrix glycoprotein belonging to the Tenascin family of adhesion proteins. Tenascin R is selectively expressed in the central nervous system, affecting neurite outgrowth and synaptic functions. Tenascin R isoform 2 shows a deletion of fibronectin type III repeat #6 (aa773-862). The human Tenascin R isoform 1 amino acid sequence is 94% identical to the corresponding canine and mouse sequences. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.1ug/ml using recombinant human Tenascin R Immunohistochemistry: 5-15ug/ml in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human brainstem (medulla) Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
