- RSV is so named from the formation of syncytia, or multinucleated masses of fused cells. Two virally specified surface glycoproteins are prominent in RSV. The large glycoprotein is designated G and the other fusion protein is designated F. In addition, two distinct groups may be present in RSV, Group A and/or Group B. Applications: Suitable for use in FLISA, Immunofluorescence and Neutralization. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: FLISA: 1:10,000 Immunofluorescence: 1:10-1:50. Direct FA staining of target antigens in a permissive tissue culture system. Acetone fixation of the antigen source is recommended prior to staining. Neutralization: > 1:256 (Titer) Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light.
