Format:: Supplied as a lyophilized powder in 10mM Tris, pH 7.5, 25mM sodium chloride. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O to a concentration of 0.1-1mg/ml Do not vortex. It is recommended that further dilutions be made in PBS, 0.1% BSA or HSA.
Extra Details:: RELMα belongs to a unique family of tissue-specific cytokines termed FIZZ (found in inflammatory zone) and RELM. The four known members of this family, resistin, RELMa, RELMb, and RELMγ, are 85-94 amino acid, secreted proteins sharing a conserved C-terminal domain, characterized by 10 cysteine residues with a unique spacing motif of C-X11-C-X8-C-X-C-X3-C-X10-C-X-C-X-C-X9-C-C. RELMa and resistin are secreted exclusively by adipocytes, while RELMb is expressed in the epithelium of the colon and small bowel. The physiological role and molecular targets of RELMa are still unknown. Recombinant Mmouse RELMa is a 10kD monomeric protein containing 89 amino acid residues. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
