- The phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of proteins on serine and threonine residues is an essential means of regulating a broad range of cellular functions. The serine/threonine protein phosphatases (PP) are intimately involved in this process. Protein phosphatase 4C may be involved in microtubule organization. PP4 consists of a catalytic subunit, PPP4C, and a regulatory subunit, PPP4R1, and belongs to the PPP phosphatase family. More specifically it is part of the PP-X subfamily. PP4 is specifically associated with NF-kappa B, p50, c-Rel, and RelA, which are pleiotropic transcription factors that play central roles in the immune and inflammatory responses, as well as apoptosis. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA (Peptide): 1:16,000 Western Blot: 0.1-0.3ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 2-4ug/ml Requires HIER using sodium citrate buffer pH6.0 prior to staining. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
