- Protein phosphatase 1, catalytic subunit, alpha isoform, also known as PPP1CA, is one of the three catalytic subunits of protein phosphatase 1. The protein is highly conserved in eukaryotic cells and play a role in dephosphorylating substrates such as the postsynaptic density-associated Ca2+/calmodulin dependent protein kinaseⅡ. It is participate in the regulation of a variety of cellular processes, such as cell division, glycogen metabolism, muscle contractility, protein synthesis and apoptosis. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:500-1:2,000 Western Blot: 1:500-1:2,000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Mouse FO myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human PPP1CA protein. May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
