- Protein Kinase C (PKC), one of the most important proteins in signal transduction, is involved with cell proliferation, differentiation and function. PKC is a family of Ca++/phosphatidylserine-dependent, serine/threonine kinases with 12 known isozyme members (a, bI, bII, g, d, e, z, h, q, l, m, i). PKC isozyme expression and distribution varies at both the tissue and intracellular levels. PKC is activated by diacylglycerol. PKC functions are dependent on isozyme type and location. PKC g (gamma, PKC type I) has a MW of 78kD. It is found predominantly in the brain and spinal cord. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000 Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:25-1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
