- Protein Kinase C (PKC), one of the most important proteins in signal transduction, is involved with cell proliferation, differentiation and function. PKC is a family of Ca++/phosphatidylserine-dependent, serine/threonine kinases with 12 known isozyme members (a, bI, bII, g, d, e, z, h, q, l, m, i). PKC isozyme expression and distribution varies at both the tissue and intracellular levels. PKC is activated by diacylglycerol. PKC functions are dependent on isozyme type and location. PKC g (gamma, PKC type I) has a MW of 78kD. It is found predominantly in the brain and spinal cord. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: Paraffin sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Source: Ascites Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
