Extra Details:: PKCe is a member of the novel protein kinase C family of serine/threonine kinases. Its activity is calcium-independent and phospholipid-dependent and is expressed at low levels in normal tissue except the brain, where expression is higher. PKCe expression appears to be induced by interferon-a and its over-expression may play a role in tumorigenesis. PKCe, through its regulatory domain, can induce immature neurite-like processes via a mechanism that appears to be of importance for neurite outgrowth during neuronal differentiation. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml detects PKCe in Jurkat cell lysate. Jurkat cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with P9103-20C PKCe (0.5ug/ml). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. Included Positive Antigen Control: (J9000) Jurkat cell lysate. Use 20ug per lane for minigels. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
