Extra Details:: Properdin in plasma is a mixture of cyclic dimers, trimers and tetramers. The molecular weight of the glycosylated monomer is 53kD. Properdin is a regulator protein of the alternative complement pathway. It stabilizes the C3 convertase excerting its effect by binding to C3b in the C3bBb complex and thereby inhibiting cleavage of C3b by factor I and increasing the affinity for factor B. Serum concentration is approximately 25ug/ml. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA (Indirect): 1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and freeze at -70°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
